Blood Orange “Lemon” Bars from EatingOutLoud.com
This week, we loved the recipe for EatingOutLoud.com‘s Blood Orange “Lemon” Bars. The details are what is important about this recipe: the mix of blood oranges and limes in the bars to make them equally sweet and tart, using the zest of both fruits, the simple ingredients that make a fantastic dessert.
Also, EatingOutLoud just has wonderful, colorful writing, like his description of the blood orange mess: “My cutting board looked like a murder scene.” His photography of his cooking (see photograph below) has beautiful detail and composition. It makes you feel as though you can smell it and taste it – too bad there aren’t free samples over the Internet.
