Noshing on the News: Fatburger Files For Bankruptcy

by Kelsey

According to the Wall Street Journal, two Fatburger subsidiaries of California and Nevada filed for bankruptcy this week.

We just found out about this news from our friends at Freshman in the Kitchen on Twitter, and the article at the WSJ blogs said that 32 locations in both states will be closing. However, Fatburger fans can take heart as the parent company of Fatburger, which operates 90 franchised restaurants in 14 states and internationally, is still intact.

Sad news. Do you know if they’re going to continue operating in bankruptcy, or will this soon lead to their closure?

Casey – not entirely sure if they will continue operating the CA and NV locations, but it appears that corporate’s other restaurants are safe for now.
